The Company

PEGASE systems is a high technology company located in Montpellier (South of France) on the Mediterranean sea coast. PEGASE systems designs, manufactures, installs and maintains innovative turnkey solutions dedicated to maritime safety, surveillance and security applications.

PEGASE systems was founded in 1998 by a group of highly specialized engineers with a strong expertise in the Oil & Gas and offshore industry. Since then the company has grown by keeping a strong focus on maritime technology applied to safety and surveillance and more specifically to Vessel Traffic Management Systems and Berthing Aid Systems. FALCON VTS and BAS (Berthing Aid System) software are recognized as premium products within their user community.

During 2008 in order to fuel for further growth, the two VC firms - Venise Invest and Bluebird Venture - have become partners to the historical founders and have injected cash and management expertise. With this latest fund raise PEGASE systems is now capable of fully executing its strategy and short term goals such as offering affordable state of the art Sensors & Systems for Maritime Surveillance Applications.

As a first step toward the execution of this strategy, PEGASE has introduced two key products :
TRITON - a standalone hybrid sensor combining radar detection and tracking with visible imagery - and POSEIDON a high resolution antenna and transceiver dedicated to coastal surveillance. These two new products are designed to operate easily with FALCON VTS offering to customers a comprehensive single shop source for Maritime Surveillance Systems.

To further enhance its Radar Sensor design capabilities, PEGASE systems has invested into a large radio frequency and microwave design and testing facility which is now fully operational at the company site. This facility and its associated software and hardware tools allow PEGASE to design RF and MW components in a bottom up design mode. Component performance such as antenna's, power amplifiers, LNA's or VCO's can be measured up to 20 GHz through their full bandwidth. The design facility comprises 2D and 3D electric and electromagnetic design, simulation EDA software packages and manufacturing CAD software.

As its latest move, PEGASE systems has finalized the deployment of its pilot site, being located in the Sète harbour inside a semaphor facing 80m above the Mediterranean sea. This site now owns the POSEIDON and TRITON sensors as well as the complete FALCON VTS system. Data, video and radar imagery are digitally broadcasted to PEGASE main site in Montpellier through a large bandwidth data link. This site is a key asset since it enables PEGASE and its customers to develop, test and validate every systems in real situations and through various weather conditions.
