RADAR IMAGING
In many applications, the harbor operator needs to detect a wide variety of vessels. Generally small crafts represent the most potential risk, but a high tonnage vessel with a bad cap can also be a danger.
Radars are required to spot this potential risks. Longue range Radar for Coastal surveillance and Vessel traffic surveillance, or Short/Medium Radar range for Maritime and Offshore surveillance. However, the problematic remains identical, the radar sends an electromagnetic signal and receives a signal reflected by all the mobile vessels encountered within the path. The higher the radar definition is, the finer the radar image will be and so the accuracy of the detection.
Algorithms and complex calculations allow speed and direction measurements of the target detected. Furthermore, target tracking can be made visually through to the live radar display.
Radar imagery can be overlaid on harbor cartography and further can be used to relocate and visualize the exact position of the detected vessel.
High definition Radar ensures an excellent safety and security on a wide area, and even provides small craft detection even in harsh climatic condition.
VIDEO TRACKING
Radar imagery coupled to a video camera becomes a powerful tool to efficiently ensure safety and security of any maritime asset. Preserving a safe perimeter security is no longer a difficulty.
A system with radar and video camera allows tracking, recording and identifying all kind of intrusions and will offer legal evidence of intrusions.
A guard zone is set and for each detection within the zone, users will be warned by an intrusion alarm. First, the radar detects the intrusion and then the camera is automatically directed to the detected craft. This solution allows to automatically detect, but also to identify (vessel type, people on board, terrorism or pacific intention, carrying weapons…) the target thanks to the camera optical zoom which provides an 1NM range identification.
Thanks to a multiple windows display radar display and camera images are overlaid on a single screen to offer perfect real time information.
With LAN or WLAN TCPIP connection, an operator could remotely control the different sensors.
