PEGASE systems partner of the SISMARIS Project...
May 2009
Driven by DCNS and under the label of Pôle Mer PACA, SISMARIS (Système d'Information et de Surveillance MARitime pour l'Identification des comportements Suspects) was launched to promote the development of a complete information system and associated technologies for extended surveillance and analysis of maritime traffic.
This R&D project will investigate technology for extending capacity in detection and surveillance of maritime traffic. Thanks to its innovative technology, this system will be capable of detecting and permanently tracking any type of vessel up to 400km away compared to 25km today with the up-to-date technology.
A demonstration platform will be operated from Toulon in the Mediterranean sea over the 3 coming years. As partner of this project, PEGASE systems will supply its high definition POSEIDON HD520 Radar.
POSEIDON HD520 is a 50kW X-Band pulsed digital radar equipped with 20' (6,25 m) SWG antenna. This high performance Radar ensures long range maritime detection, even for small targets under bad weather conditions.
Specific algorithms will be integrated to detect suspicious vessel behavior analysis indicating situations such as terrorism, piracy, illegal immigration or fishing, or environmental disasters.
