January 2010
PEGASE systems has successfully accomplished the installation of FALCON VTS at Sète Port Autorithy, France.
As part of the modernization of the port infrastructures, the Port Authority has decided to support safety, security and efficiency of maritime traffic by acquiring a VTS system. At the end of the open bid procedure issued for the acquisition of this VTS system, the PEGASE FALCON VTS showed up as a the best technical and financial solution and was therefore selected by the Sète Port Authority.
In less than two months, PEGASE systems delivered and installed to the Sète Port Authority a turnkey system consisting in a 8 feet X-band radar, an AIS shore-based station, FALCON VTS server and an integrated operator station equipped with FALCON VTS client software. Compliant with IMO/IALA recommendations and ISPS code, this new VTS system enables detection, identification and monitoring of vessels up to 20 NM.
Among the ambitious projects of modernization driven by the Region Languedoc Roussillon, which is the owner of the Sète Port, it is planned to install in a near future a Port Management Software. This new system could be interconnected with FALCON VTS, offering then to the Port users, shipping & trading community a complete and modern exploitation solution.
